JOB PURPOSE
The Materials Controller will be part of the Supply Chain Team and deliver a first class service through proactively pursuing and finding a resolution to prevent any supply chain issues that would effect an efficient production. This will be done by liaising with external suppliers and having close interaction with planning/production/operations to ensure the business provides a high level of customer service at all times.
They will be able to cover all material controller aspects in order to provide absence cover and training..
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Co-ordinate calling in of materials in line with the plan and movements of pallets between suppliers and warehouses
Checking status of the Gluing plan
Raising orders for dies and consumables.
Building packing specs.
Order raw materials (board- in sheet or reel format, windows, outers)
Daily download from Avante to effectively plan material requirements
Raise purchase orders on Avante system as required
Place daily call offs for raw materials with suppliers
Update Delivery schedule upon confirmation from Supplier/Hauliers
Update works orders with delivery dates after confirmation from Suppliers/Hauliers
Notify planners / Supply Chain Manager of any none availability of raw materials.
Organise Group material transfers
Source and order material sample requests
Liaise with suppliers on all issues
Liaise with external warehouses and transport companies
Follow quality process for claiming against defective materials
Raise NCR’s where required
Collate reports as requested for inter departmental use
Maintain Avante MIS system with updated data
Resolve invoice queries
Ensure a good working relationship with all departments
Checking off raised Purchase Orders v supplier confirmations
Closure of old/incomplete purchase orders
Booking in supplier deliveries/checking delivery paperwork
Systems Housekeeping
Work occasional weekends, primarily during peak periods and Customer Launch cycles.
Assist with stock check reconciliations
Liaise with Outworkers
SKILLS/QUALS
High standard of Microsoft Excel skills required.
Good general level of education, preferably to Diploma/NVQIV level.
Experience with Purchasing and MRP preferred, but not essential.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Some Planning experience preferred, but not essential.
Previous experience of Print/Packaging preferred, but not essential.

Reliable and flexible with strong work ethic.
Able to effectively prioritise and adapt to variable workload.
Punctual, presentable and with good attendance.
Will be working in very fast paced environment so you must be experienced in dealing with pressure and be highly organised with an ability to multi-task and manage ones own time.
