About the Role UBDS are seeking a highly skilled Network / Infrastructure Engineer with hands-on experience to join our Secure Connectivity capability group, to provide specialist / dedicated support to UBDS clients’ infrastructure, technology roadmaps and programmes / projects. Responsibilities You will be responsible for the design and implementation of network solutions across a variety of client sectors. You will be a problem-solver, passionate about networking & technology Our customer-facing role will expose you to a diverse group of teams, providing endless opportunities for career growth in a challenging and fast-paced environment. You will develop yourself as an SME for other members of the team whose speciality is not networking. Effectively communicate with customers regarding technical issues and customer service inquiries, both orally and in writing. Collaborate with other team members to work together on outages, misconfigurations, and complex issues that may arise within customer networks. Diagnose and troubleshoot wireless, security, switching, and other various network-related issues Work with colleagues and our client's teams to diagnose and resolve critical, escalated issues. Requirements About You Previous & Proven hands on experience Cisco products and other major networking tools & products A good understanding of networking protocols & transport protocols including TCP, STP, OSPF, BGP, etc. Experience setting up or testing LANs, VLANs, WLANs, VPNs and NAT, amongst other services. Outstanding English language, written and verbal communication skills and comprehension. Excellent client facing skills and an ability to communicate at all levels within an organisation Experience in computer networking related problem solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting. Ability to multitask and work under pressure. Networking certifications: CCNA or equivalent. You must be eligible for SC Clearance Previous experience with Cisco products, Aruba products with some firewalls experience; and Azure networking will be beneficial.
