Senior electrical commissioning engineer

Overview

Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer – HPC Project, Nuclear Power Programmes. Amentum, a leading engineering and support services provider, is expanding its team across the United Kingdom and continental Europe. The role involves working on a high‑performance capacitor (HPC) project and supporting multiple nuclear projects in a variety of technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to team meetings.
• Liaise with designers and project managers for electrical deliverables.
• Report to the nominated Commissioning Manager/Engineer in the NNB HPC Project team.
• Develop commissioning documentation for testing and system validation activities.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure plant layouts allow ease of commissioning.
• Plan commissioning activities and take ownership of the commissioning test programme.
• Execute site commissioning activities, supervising contractor commissioning personnel to achieve safe and successful commissioning of HPC systems.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified (or equivalent qualification such as HNC + experience) in Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of BS7671 18th Edition regulations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information.
• Ability to plan works and support scheduling, including familiarity with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
