Role Purpose
As the Cluster Facilities Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our beautiful retirement villages. Your leadership will guarantee that our buildings, grounds, and systems are safe, comfortable, and meet the high standards our owners expect.
With the support of a dedicated maintenance and grounds team, you’ll be instrumental in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Your leadership will help build an exceptional team that meets the needs of our owners and aligns with our business goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a team of maintenance and grounds staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
* Collaborate with various departments to coordinate maintenance activities and support operational goals.
* Develop and implement maintenance policies to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
* Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs.
* Manage maintenance budgets, seeking cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
* Liaise with contractors and suppliers to oversee work performed on-site.
* Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and address owner concerns professionally.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using management systems.
* Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve operations.
* Prepare business presentations and share action plans with team members and owners.
* Be available for emergency calls to assist colleagues as needed.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in senior living or hospitality.
* Multi-site experience is a plus.
* Relevant qualifications in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
* Health and safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely).
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and develop your team.
* Experience in budget management and cost control.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of building regulations and health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Proficiency in maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office.
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
* Flexibility to respond to emergencies and work occasional evenings or weekends.
* Technical knowledge and experience in general trades; pool plant operator knowledge is a plus.
