Staffordshire County Council is looking for a Family Practitioner to support children and families within Lichfield district. You will work closely with social workers and support the ‘Family Help’ pilot, collaborating across teams to improve service delivery.
Main Responsibilities
* Lead early help assessments, develop plans and deliver targeted support interventions.
* Lead child in need plans with oversight of a social work practice lead.
* Work with social workers to support children in need, on child protection plans and in care.
* Contribute to parenting assessments, mediation, crisis prevention, conflict resolution and Life Story Work.
* Accurately document reports and records relating to work with children, young people and their families.
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum NVQ Level 3 related to working with children and families or relevant experience.
* Experience supporting children and families within homes, delivering direct work and engaging creatively.
* Understanding of key policy, guidance and legislation governing children’s social care.
* Effective communication with children, their families and carers.
* Proficiency with IT, including Microsoft Office.
* Flexible with working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
* Current UK driving licence and vehicle.
Interviews will be held w/c 22nd June 2026. This role is subject to a review of weekend working arrangements, including paid enhancements.
