PontardawePrimary Care Centre is a friendly, forward thinking training practice within theUpper Valleys cluster of Swansea Bay University Health Board.We are looking to recruit a Salaried GP for 6 sessions a week to add to our close-knitteam.The practice consists of 4 GP partners, 4 salaried GPs, Practice BusinessManager, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, 2 registrar's, 4 practice nurses, health caresupport workers and a dedicated team of administrative staff, including Pharmacy Technicians. We are nowlooking to offer an opportunity for the right candidate to join our team inorder to further improve the quality of care offered to our 13,500 strongpatient population.
We are seeking a salaried GP for 6 sessions a week. We boast the advantage of operating our large practice from a Single site with a mixture of face to face (15 minute) appointments and Telephone Appointments. We also encourage opportunities to help develop key services through identification and enablement of special interests. We operate on the EMIS clinical system, have EPS fully enabled and embedded and offer a very competitive salary.
We will provide clinical and pastoral support, mentorship and learning opportunities to help integration into our team.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/ orWelsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will:
Assistin the delivery and provision of General Medical Services, Enhanced Services,and work with the GP Collaborative, in accordance with the GMS and otherpractice contracts. Continuing professional development opportunities, andregular practice meetings.
Make him/her-self available to undertakea variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations,visiting patients at home and in nursing homes, checking and signing repeatprescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in atimely fashion.
Be required to be on-call forclinically urgent and emergency problems and consequently be included in thedoctors on-call- rota.
Makeprofessional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other health care workers within theorganisation
Coverall the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate includinginitiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondarycare or to other providers as appropriate
Developcare and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with currentPractice disease management protocols as well as wider guidance such as thatfrom NICE
Play a role in the practice achieving QIF/Collaborative priorities and other key performance indicator targets.

Located just off the M4 near Swansea, Pontardawe Primary Care Centre is a friendly and high achieveing training practice. Having recently undergone refurbishment and expansion, the building is now modern and enables the practice to grow it's already significant workforce to help achieve our aim of providing high level patient care to our 13,500 strong patient population.
The practice has recognised the important role MDT plays in primary care and has been able to successfully blend it's MDT approach to an already established GP presence within the practice, which this post seeks to enhance.
The practice is ambitious and is keen to keep moving forward in innovative ways to help manage demand and enhance patient and employee experience.
As a training practice we currently house 2 GP registrars and offer significant CPD opportunities to incumbent staff to promote self development.

Prescribinggenerically whenever appropriate and in accordance with the Practiceprescribing formulary, NICE guidance, Good Prescribing Practice
Workwith and support other members of the primary health care team in deliveringhigh quality primary care
Promotethe application of standards and codes of Practice set by the Royal College ofGeneral Practice, General Medical Council and Department of Health
Playa role in the practice achieving QIF/ Collaborative priorities and other keyperformance indicator targets.

Qualifications
* Qualified GP
* GMC full registration
* Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent (JCPTGP)
* Membership of recognised defence union (MPS/MDU)

* Currently on a performers list
* Never been removed from a performers list for a detrimental reason
* Evidence of recent self-directed learning or development
* Recognised qualifications for GP registrar training
* Listing of any specifically qualified training of specialist interests
Experience
* The practice welcomes applicants with prior experience of salaried positions or likewise, those who are newly qualified with no experience.
* Prior experience of using Vision is desirable but not essential.
