Overview
Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (tPWP) – Warrington Talking Therapies, Ribban Court, 20 Dallam Lane, Warrington WA2 7NG. Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (including one 12-8 shift). Service opening hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-8pm, Friday 8am-5pm. Salary: £27,485- £30,162 NHS AFC Band 4. Base: Warrington Talking Therapies, Ribban Court.
Responsibilities
* Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
* Undertake patient-centred interviews to identify areas for change or recovery and assess risk to self and others.
* Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, refer unsuitable clients to the relevant service, return to the referral source, or step up to high intensity psychological therapy as appropriate.
* Provide information and support for evidence-based high-volume, low-intensity psychological treatments, including guided self-help, computerised CBT, and information about pharmacological treatments. This work may be face to face, by telephone or via other media.
* Educate and involve family members and others in treatment, as necessary.
* Adhere to an activity contract related to client contacts and clinical sessions to minimise waiting times and maintain accessible delivery.
* Attend multi-disciplinary meetings related to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.
* Complete all data collection requirements within the service.
* Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols and use records and outcomes data in clinical decision making.

Job Description / About the role
The post holder will work within the service while undertaking a programme of training at John Moores University, progressively learning how to deliver low-intensity interventions at high volume for anxiety and depression. Support includes extensive clinical and caseload supervision and delivering treatments via multiple modalities (face to face, telephone, groups, and cCBT). The role requires balancing university attendance with service work, including assessments and delivery of Low Intensity Interventions. A BABCP accreditation within 6 months of patient contact is required.
About you
You will have experience of working with mental health, be able to engage people, identify barriers, and demonstrate strong motivational and communication skills. You should hold a health-related degree; training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy or psychology is desirable. Experience with diverse and complex needs, community-based service experience, and strong written and verbal communication are essential.
