Main area Podiatry Grade Band 5 Contract Permanent Hours Full time - 37.5 hours per week (Monday- Friday 8.15-16.15) Job ref 828-PROVIDE3690-A Employer Provide CIC Employer type NHS Site Springfield Green Clinic Town Chelmsford Salary per annum Closing Today at 23:59 Job Overview The post holder will be part of a highly motivated team working autonomously but with close support and supervision from a Senior Clinician, in a community setting providing a high standard of quality clinical care. The clinician will complete a programme of competences to demonstrate increased clinical skills in all areas. We are a small team of highly skilled clinicians working together across 3 sites to delivered enhanced wound care and prevention. This post is ideal for those qualifying in summer 2024 or someone who would like to explore the chance of Returning to Practice. Main duties of the job He/she will assess, diagnose, develop and implement individualised care programmes for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs, including acute or chronic neuropathies, chronic diseases, vascular problems and wound management. The post holder will also be expected to plan and manage their own caseload, which will include providing specialist care of patients with diabetes and other conditions that put them at high risk of foot ulcers Working for our organisation Provide is a Community Interest Company (social enterprise). Eligible for NHS Pension Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities To be responsible for the assessment diagnosis, planning implementation and evaluation of Podiatric care to a variety of patients with a wide range of clinical needs including:- High Risk Diabetes Chronic Neuropathy Chronic disease e.g. Rheumatoid Arthritis Vascular problems Wound management/tissue viability Neurological disorders Nail Surgery Care will be provided in a range of primary and intermediate care settings, some of which may be in isolation: Community Health Clinics To be responsible for the assessment of new patients with subsequent production of individual care packages and provision of the appropriate footcare education advice. To have the ability to use the decision making process to identify when patients require the intervention of other professional and/or departmental specialist areas by following agreed departmental referral pathways e.g. acute wound care. To be responsible for the production of temporary Orthoses/appliances and writing prescriptions for manufactured insoles. To participate in nail surgery. To perform diabetic assessment review clinics where duties will include: Diabetic Foot assessment using the appropriate equipment, i.e. monofilaments, Doppler, ABPI’s. To identify risk factory and categorise patients into appropriate risk handing. To refer to specialist services as required. To be actively involved in the provision of Foot Health Education advice to patients, relatives and carers and to participate in foot health training where appropriate for Primary Care and Social Services Staff. To be actively involved in the development and implementation of Departmental policies and procedures. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Degree/Diploma in Podiatric Medicine or working towards Local Analgesia Administration Certificate or working towards Knowledge & Experience Essential criteria Evidence of NHS podiatry placements Desirable criteria Experience in working with “at risk” patients Further Information How will we contact you?
