The pro-rata salary will be £12,540 per annum. Due to the different areas where you may work, the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Interviews will be held on Friday, 5th September 2025. The interview process involves two stages: an assessment morning from 9:30 am to 12 pm, including teamwork activities and a presentation (Rhymetime/Storytime or similar), followed by a face-to-face interview in the afternoon for successful candidates.

Key Responsibilities
* Helping people, with some IT skills preferred. Using self-service equipment and providing empathy and patience.
* Arranging and conducting Rhymetime sessions for families with babies and toddlers.
* Maintaining health and safety standards, identifying issues, and helping to resolve them.
* Contributing to promotional activities to generate income and sharing ideas for initiatives that can be implemented across all libraries.
* Assisting customers with the library catalogue and exploring the full library offer.
* Managing stock circulation, sorting, shelving, handling reservations, fines, and memberships.
* Using data to improve customer and staff services.
* Helping with unlocking/locking up in smaller libraries and acting as a trusted keyholder, requiring possession of a driving license.
* Demonstrating IT system skills or the ability to learn.
* Providing excellent customer service and signposting to library and council services.
* Bringing enthusiasm and ideas, and working within a team to improve our services.
