Locum Psychologist – Band 8a/8b | Forensic Outreach Liaison Service | Competitive Hourly Rate
Are you an experienced Clinical Psychologist with a background in learning disabilities and forensic services?
A unique locum opportunity has arisen within a specialist community-based team focused on supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism who present with behaviours that may pose a risk to the public.
This psychology-led multidisciplinary team works proactively to reduce contact with the criminal justice system and prevent admission to secure hospitals. The initial focus of the role will be supporting a cohort of individuals transitioning from secure care into community settings, ensuring risk is managed effectively and readmission is avoided.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and coordinate specialist psychological services within the locality.
* Deliver evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions.
* Provide clinical supervision and consultation to non-psychologist colleagues.
* Manage complex cases and contribute to risk assessments and care planning.
* Collaborate with external agencies and teams to ensure continuity of care.
* Champion trauma-informed care, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), and active support approaches.
* Contribute to service development, policy review, and research initiatives.
* Facilitate complex case reviews and multi-agency meetings.
* Maintain high standards of clinical documentation and governance.
About You:
* HCPC-registered Psychologist.
* Experience working within learning disability and/or forensic services.
* Skilled in managing complex clinical presentations and risk.
* Comfortable working in a leadership capacity within a multidisciplinary team.

Highly competitive hourly rate (Band 8a/8b level)
