We have an opportunity for a qualified Band 5 Podiatrist to join our friendly and supportive team in the Swansea and Port Talbot area. The role offers opportunities to use and develop professional skills in a range of community settings, including clinic sessions with assessment and treatment of podiatric pathologies, wound management, referrals for nail surgery, and other onward referrals, all underpinned by patient self-management support.
Main duties
The post involves autonomous assessment and development of treatment plans, signposting as appropriate for a wide range of patients with both routine and complex health problems. It includes effective management of a clinical caseload of clients with complex needs using evidence-based, client-centred approaches to assess, plan, implement and evaluate podiatric interventions in community and other settings as required. Support positive behavioural changes through co-production and activation to empower self-management. Welsh language ability is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Qualifications, Knowledge and Training
* BSC (Hons) in Podiatric Medicine or equivalent
* Local anaesthesia certificate
* HCPC Registration
* Evidence of relevant continued professional development in all aspects of podiatric practice
Desirable
* Prescription only medicines certificate
Experience
* Essential: Clinical experience gained as part of undergraduate training or post qualification
* Desirable: Demonstrate a broad spectrum of clinical experience
Skills and Abilities
* Undertake manual clinical podiatry treatments and work independently within Band 5 scope as well as in a team
* Good organisational skills to plan workload and manage time effectively
* Computer literate; act independently where appropriate
* Desirable: Clinical reasoning, analytical thinking, collaboration with patients and carers, research and audit abilities
Personal Attributes
* Flexible, resilient under pressure, and able to develop within the post
* Good organisational and communication skills; professional attitude; able to work on own initiative
Physical Requirements
* Physically able to undertake assessments and patient movement as required
* Access to transport to attend clinics across a large geographical area
* Desirable: Ability to speak Welsh
