Associate Electrical Engineer - Building Services
📍 Bristol (Hybrid Working)
💰 £60,000 - £75,000 (DOE + progression incentives)
An established, design-led Building Services consultancy is looking to appoint an ambitious Associate Electrical Engineer to play a pivotal role in the growth of their Bristol office.
This is a unique opportunity to join a business in the early stages of rebuilding and scaling a regional presence, with strong backing from a larger, well-established team in South Wales. The Bristol office is currently lean, giving the incoming engineer genuine influence over its direction, team culture, and future growth.
You'll work closely with a mechanically biased lead who has experience building teams from the ground up and is now focused on bringing in ambitious, high-quality engineers capable of operating autonomously and helping shape the office.
The Role
Lead electrical design across a range of building services projects (all RIBA stages)
Take ownership of project delivery with minimal supervision
Act as a key client-facing representative on projects
Support and mentor junior engineers as the team grows
Contribute to developing processes, standards, and team culture within the office
Collaborate with a wider multidisciplinary team for project support
Projects
Mixed-sector portfolio including:
Education
Healthcare
Commercial
Residential
Combination of new build and refurbishment schemes
What They're Looking For
Strong electrical design background within building services
Proven ability to deliver projects independently
Comfortable in client-facing situations
Ambitious, proactive, and keen to be part of building something
Experience across key areas such as LV distribution, lighting design, and power systems
Working towards (or already achieved) Chartership (CIBSE or IET)
Why This Role?
This isn't just another Senior Engineer position - it's a career-defining opportunity for someone who wants more than just project delivery.
You'll be joining at a stage where your input will directly influence hires, culture, and the long-term success of the office. The business is specifically looking for individuals with the mindset and character to grow with the team, not just sit within it.
With salary starting around £60k and the potential to increase toward £75k+ as the office grows (particularly with client development), this role offers both immediate impact and long-term upside.
