Our practice is 20 years old and still growing, taking on new clients all the time! Guernsey Vets for Pets is a thriving small animal practice located in the beautiful island of Guernsey! We are currently seeking an ambitious veterinary surgeon to join our dedicated team of professionals.
Our team
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a group of highly skilled and specialized veterinarians. Our team includes advanced practitioners in areas such as orthopaedics, neurology, internal medicine, imaging, cardiology, dermatology, and ophthalmology. Further, we have colleagues with special interest in pain management and acupuncture, and in November 2023 we became the first UK practice to achieve ZERO PAIN status. This creates a fantastic learning environment where you can expand your knowledge and skills in various areas of veterinary medicine.
The role
This is a fast-paced practice and due to the nature of the role, we are looking for a driven small animal vet with broad GP skills, exceptional communication skills, and someone who will thrive from learning from the varied case load seen whilst providing the highest level of veterinary care. Your role will be varied, including hospital work, consultations, and surgery.
Candidates should therefore have a minimum of 1-2 years prior experience as a veterinary surgeon. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about providing excellent care, have strong communication skills, and are committed to continuous professional development.
The role is full time only worked over 4 or 5 days, with either a 1 hour or ½ hour lunch break depending on days worked and with out of hours provision and weekends shared evenly across the team, ensuring a relaxed rota for all!

We understand that relocation can be a big step, which is why in addition to a competitive benefits package including a salary between £55,000 - £80,000 commensurate with experience, we also offer a generous relocation allowance to help make the transition as smooth as possible and sponsorship opportunities for the right candidate, allowing you to further develop your career and pursue additional qualifications.
