Position Details
* Role: Consultant Dermatologist (12-month fixed term, 10 Programmed Activities)
* Base: Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Hospital, covering Glasgow and Clyde
This position involves working across two GGC hospitals, with links to the Alan Lyell Centre for Dermatology in Glasgow. Flexibility to work at other locations as required by the Clinical Service Lead is expected. The role offers 10 PAs within the Glasgow and Clyde Dermatology Directorate.
About the Service
Adult dermatology services in Greater Glasgow and Clyde are provided by the dermatology directorate, operating on a hub and spoke model. The Alan Lyell Centre is the regional adult dermatology hub serving approximately 1.5 million people in the West of Scotland. Services are delivered at eight hospital sites, including Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Inverclyde Royal Hospital, and others, offering outpatient dermatology care.
Team and Special Interests
You will join a multidisciplinary team comprising Consultants, Specialty Doctors, GP Clinical Assistants, and dermatology nurses. The team covers a range of subspecialties, including cutaneous surgery (Mohs surgery), skin cancer, photodermatology, contact dermatitis, severe psoriasis, teaching, genodermatoses, paediatric dermatology, connective tissue disorders, lymphoma, and hair disorders.
