The Salvation Army operates a transformative Driver Programme Service in Christchurch, removing barriers to gaining a practical licence. The Driver Programmes deliver services with a client-centric focus to support people who are facing challenges in attaining their practical licence. The aim is to help people on their individual journey with the support of volunteer mentors, coaches, parents and our instructors. The programmes are life changing.
About the Role:
This role requires a highly self-motivated individual with excellent time management skills. You must be adaptable, patient, and able to promote safety and good road citizenship during in-car training sessions. It's essential to be physically fit and energetic for this position. An I-endorsement is required. We will also consider candidates who do not currently hold an I-endorsement, provided they are scheduled to complete a course to obtain it soon.
What will your responsibilities be:
* Working with volunteer driving mentors
* Following the programme frameworks and methodologies
* Scheduling and booking lessons
* Working with the team to provide excellence in delivery of our programmes.
Our ideal candidate will:
* Have focused patience when training one on one.
* Have excellent language skills to empower trainees.
* Has experience with working across many cultures.
* Have great energy.
* Have a solid work ethic
* Having an understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi
* Have a commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army
* Have a current and clean full drivers' license (min 2 years).
* Complete and pass a 'fit and proper person' police check.

This role is casualandhours worked will be up to 20 per week.
The starting hourly rate for this role will fall between $29 and $31
