Reactor Operator Trainee
The Opportunity
Sizewell B Power Station is offering exciting opportunities to join our highly skilled Operations Department. We are recruiting for several vacancies to participate in the Main Control Room Training Programme. Successful completion of this programme will qualify you as a Duly Authorised Person within a shift team, responsible for operating the reactor and associated equipment.
Our Main Control Room teams play a crucial role in ensuring safe and reliable station operation by monitoring plant performance, escalating issues, and developing standards to improve human performance and safety.
Pay, Benefits, and Culture
The salary range for this role is £45,641 to £81,263. The starting salary is likely to be between £45,641 and £60,826, determined by experience, qualifications, and company parameters. We offer an attractive pension scheme, shift allowance where applicable, and other benefits. These are full-time, permanent positions based on-site at Sizewell B Power Station.

What You’ll Be Doing
You will undertake a comprehensive training programme, including site familiarisation, off-site courses, on-site exposure, and simulator training. The programme lasts approximately two years, after which you will be qualified as a Reactor Operator, with opportunities for further career progression within the Main Control Room.
You will also be part of the Station Emergency Scheme, which involves rotational on-call duties with appropriate remuneration.

* Have industrial and operational engineering experience?
* Can think dynamically and manage multiple inputs?
* Remain calm under operational pressures?
* Possess a relevant HNC or degree?
* Interested in working in a complex nuclear environment?

Please note: You must maintain physical fitness, pass a medical assessment, and obtain SC security vetting, which requires UK residency for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
