This is a varied, hands-on position suited to an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, working with complex equipment, and delivering high-quality technical support both on-site and in the field.
The Role As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting customers through maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and technical assistance. You will play a key role in ensuring products perform to the highest standards while delivering a professional and responsive service.
This position offers a balance of site-based work and travel to customer locations, providing excellent exposure to different environments and challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Support & Field Service
* Deliver professional, customer-focused technical support
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers
* Explain technical issues and solutions in a clear and accessible way
* Provide training to end users on equipment and systems
* Attend customer sites as required, including occasional overnight stays
* Manage and resolve service-related issues effectively
Service Delivery & Operations
* Plan, prioritise, and complete service activities within agreed timeframes
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards
* Maintain tools, equipment, and testing systems to required standards
* Complete accurate service documentation, reports, and records
* Support spare parts management and inventory processes
* Contribute to continuous improvement of service procedures and processes
Skills & Experience Essential
* HNC (or equivalent) or relevant hands-on engineering experience
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Experience within an engineering, manufacturing, or technical environment
* Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems
* Understanding of health and safety requirements
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
* Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
Desirable
* Experience working on complex xxuwjjq engineered products
* Knowledge of continuous improvement or lean principles
* Familiarity with ERP systems
