About the Role As Consultant Haematologist, you will join an established team at QEH King's Lynn, working alongside experienced consultant colleagues and specialist nurses to deliver a comprehensive clinical and laboratory haematology service. The role offers the opportunity to develop a sub-specialist interest, with one session per week at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Addenbrooke's Hospital), contributing to tertiary-level care and MDTs. The department forms part of the Eastern Pathology Alliance, a UKAS-accredited service, and works closely with regional MDTs for malignant and non-malignant haematology. Key Responsibilities Provide consultant-level care for inpatients, outpatients, and day-unit patients Lead and participate in haematology clinics, including Macmillan clinics and telephone follow-ups Contribute to the on-call rota (currently 1:4 weekdays/weekends) Participate in local and regional MDTs, including video-linked specialist MDTs Support and supervise junior doctors, trainees, and multidisciplinary colleagues Contribute to clinical governance, audit, service improvement, and GIRFT initiatives Support education, appraisal, and CPD activities within the department About the Department & Setting Dedicated Macmillan Unit with access to Level 2b inpatient beds Strong links with Cambridge University Hospitals, including CAR‑T pathways Supportive consultant team with defined subspecialty interests What We're Looking For Essential MBBS (or equivalent medical degree) Full GMC registration with licence to practise Entry on the GMC Specialist Register (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR) Right to work in the UK DBS/PVG check (or willingness to complete) Excellent communication and teamworking skillsDesirable CCT in Haematology (or within 6 months) Interest in developing a recognised subspecialty area Experience contributing to teaching, audit, or service development Why King's Lynn?
