Midlothian Council is seeking a dynamic, effective, and client-focused Senior Project Manager to lead major projects within the Learning Estates team, supporting community infrastructure needs in Scotland's second fastest-growing local authority.
The successful candidate will represent the Education Department on project boards, overseeing the delivery of the Council's capital programme, including large-scale projects such as three new High Schools, eight primary schools, and numerous extensions for Primary education, Early Years, and Additional Support Needs.
Responsibilities include monitoring and reporting on the Learning Estate Strategy, conducting annual surveys to assess the suitability of learning facilities, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards, providing value for money.
Requirements
* Extensive project management experience, especially with large capital projects.
* Knowledge of the planning process.
* Strong communication skills, including report writing and delivering presentations.
* Ability to think conceptually and provide clear advice and guidance.
Additional Details
Contract: Permanent, 36 hours/week, based at Fairfield House.
Salary: Minimum £46,511.92 per annum, aligned with the first point on the salary scale.
