Job Description Role Overview The Electrical Service Engineer is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of Hänel automated storage systems, with a strong focus on electrical systems, controls, and fault-finding. This is a field-based role covering the Basingstoke, Portsmouth, and Crawley area, working independently at customer sites to ensure equipment operates safely, reliably, and in compliance with current electrical regulations. Key Responsibilities Carry out electrical inspections on Hänel automated storage systems in line with current regulations. Perform planned preventative maintenance, annual servicing, and electrical repairs on Hänel units. Diagnose and rectify electrical and control system faults, including wiring, sensors, motors, and PLC-related issues. Support and implement system upgrades, including electrical modifications and software updates. Assist with the installation, wiring, and commissioning of new systems at customer sites. Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns, prioritising electrical fault resolution. Ensure all work complies with current electrical standards and health & safety requirements.
