Duties Description Under supervision of a Land Surveyor: Investigates and examines the evidence of real property locations in the field; research of records relating to ownership and location of real property; perform calculations for horizontal and vertical control; drafts and prepares CAD maps for administrative and acquisition surveys; checks work of consultant surveyors; prepares and checks legal descriptions; operates modern terrestrial, geodetic surveying and geographic positioning systems instruments, follows field procedures and work zone safety.
Minimum Qualifications Open-Competitive:
Four years of experience in technician work in aeronautical, chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, or sanitary engineering technology; environmental technology; geology or geology technology; or as a surveyor or a drafter;
OR graduation from high school and one year of qualifying experience;
OR graduation from a high school technical education program in aeronautics, architectural drafting, chemistry, electricity, electronics, mechanical design and construction, technical structural drafting and design, technical instrumentation and control systems, or computer circuitry;
OR 18 college semester credit hours in any combination of the following: engineering, geology, environmental science, natural or physical science, drafting, mathematics, or surveying.
