We have an opportunity for a Sister - Charge Nurse to join their team of staff in the Pre Assessment department.
This is a part time role for 30 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:
* Provide hands‑on clinical care, acting as a senior point of support for complex or deteriorating patients.
* Coordinate daily clinical activity and ensure safe staffing levels, skill mix, and continuity of care.
* Allocate and supervise staff during shifts, ensuring responsibilities are clearly defined and patient needs are met.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NMC and organisational standards.
* Act as a key liaison for patients, families, consultants, and members of the wider multidisciplinary team.
* Assist with the coordination of admissions, discharges, and patient flow within the department.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
* Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
* A minimum of 3 years post-registration experience, with specific experience in pre-operative assessment.
* Experience in leading and supervising a team within a clinical environment.
* Strong clinical decision‑making, communication, and coordination skills.
* Commitment to high standards of patient care and professional development.
* Proficiency in interpreting pathology results and ECGs.
