You’ll bring a broad range of the following knowledge, skills and experience, shaped by different roles, sectors or career paths, and the judgment to apply them effectively at scale; Full membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and rural surveying / estate management professional Expertise of land use, agriculture, asset management, land management, environmental issues, conservation and sustainable development Substantial post qualification practical experience working as a Chartered Surveyor in estate and asset management, including operating at a senior level Significant leadership and line management experience, working across wide geographical areas Demonstrable ability to analyse, interpret and resolve complex asset and estate management situation Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences Strong project management capability, with experience delivering complex programmes Regional Head of Let EstateWorking within the let estate function means being at the heart of how land and property deliver long-term value for both people and places. You’ll operate in a collaborative, professionally diverse environment, partnering closely with property teams, regional leaders and specialist colleagues to balance commercial performance with environmental stewardship and community impact. The work is varied and often complex, giving you the opportunity to shape how residential and commercial portfolios are managed and developed across a wide geographical area. You’ll be supported to lead confidently, share expertise and influence outcomes, while working within a culture that encourages innovation, continuous improvement and thoughtful decision-making. As this role covers the London and South East region, your contractual place of work can be one of the National Trust offices within your region. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.In this role, you’ll lead and motivate a regional team of estate management professionals, holding full accountability for the performance and management of a significant let estate. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to shape and deliver strategic estate and asset management plans, ensuring all property activities align with our organisational objectives. You’ll oversee complex negotiations and dispute resolution across residential and commercial portfolios, while acting as a trusted advisor. You’ll also monitor performance data, identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance outcomes. You’ll build strong external networks, represent the organisation within the sector and bring insights back into the business to drive innovation.
