AstraZeneca's Flu-BPD group is seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist to join our multidisciplinary team specializing in Virology, Analytical Development, and Process Development. Based in Liverpool, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering the seasonal live attenuated influenza vaccine by bringing scientific excellence and cutting-edge analytical expertise to our pipeline.,
* PhD in a relevant scientific field (or equivalent experience) with 4-10 years postdoctoral or industry experience
* In-depth hands-on experience developing and validating cell-based or virus-based assays, ideally with influenza
* Proven analytical development, method validation, and technology transfer experience
* Strong background in cell culture, analytical biochemistry, laboratory automation, and microbiology
* Excellent decision-making skills and ability to work independently under time pressure
* Adherence to GMP, regulatory, and documentation standards
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* Experience with liquid handlers and automated laboratory technology
* Proficiency with data analysis software (GraphPad Prism, JMP, SoftMax Pro)
* Experience implementing process improvement initiatives and supporting cross-functional projects
* Prior exposure to Bioassay/CMC environments
* Experience supervising or mentoring junior scientists
