Job Description
Green Gates offers residential, nursing, palliative, post‑operative and respite care, supporting adults with long‑term conditions. The home provides a comfortable, homely atmosphere with clean en‑suite rooms, Wi‑Fi, Smart TV, and extensive communal dining facilities.
The Chef Manager will be responsible for all aspects of menu planning, preparation and service, ensuring a varied, balanced diet that meets resident dietary needs and preferences. The role also involves supervising and mentoring kitchen staff, maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety and cost control, and managing paperwork in accordance with COSHH, HACCP and company policies.
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a nutritious, resident‑centred menu, considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
* Lead, train and inspire the kitchen team to deliver an excellent dining experience.
* Maintain culinary excellence and innovate within the kitchen.
* Handle mandatory paperwork, adhere to COSHH, HACCP guidelines, budgets, and manage orders and deliveries.
* Plan and deliver special events or seasonal activities (e.g., summer fetes, Christmas parties, birthdays) as required.
Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role
Passion for cooking, previous experience working in a fresh‑food kitchen and relevant hygiene certificates. Strong leadership, innovative thinking, high standards, mentoring abilities and a genuine love of food and residents.
