Role Introduction
To oversee the therapy team in the Stephenson Centre of Wellbeing, in collaboration with the Director of Safeguarding & Deputy Head (Pastoral), ensuring that high standards of clinical practice are maintained alongside a ‘whole school’ approach to the mental health and wellbeing of pupils.

Main Duties
* Provide support and direction to the team of psychologists and counsellors in the Stephenson Centre for Wellbeing:
* Set and model high standards of clinical practice;
* Lead allocation meetings;
* Chair regular clinical governance meetings;
* Oversee secure communication between SCW, Health Centre, House Masters, and Dames;
* Ensure SCW staff receive regular annual appraisals and job planning, and guide decisions about contracts, recruitment, and service delivery;
* Guide the continuous professional development (CPD) of the team in line with service needs.
Provide advice to the Director of Safeguarding
* Review data from the SCW service regarding key issues, referral processes, policy, and protocols, including data sharing with the school;
* Establish links with CIRL for in-depth data analysis on service use and mental illness levels;
* Stay updated with research relevant to school mental health and the whole school approach;
* Assist in implementing a whole school mental health approach, advising the Wellbeing Advisory Board, PSHEE curriculum, and wider wellbeing initiatives;
* Advise leadership teams, pastoral staff, safeguarding team, pupils, House Masters, and Dames on mental health issues;
* Review medical reports from external agencies;
* Work closely with the Director of Safeguarding, meeting fortnightly to discuss pupil safety and response confidence.
Safeguarding
* Oversee risk assessments for pupils with significant risks, sharing copies with relevant staff;
* Provide consultation on therapeutic risks to the SCW and safeguarding teams;
* Contribute to staff and pupil training on safeguarding issues as needed, collaborating with the Director of Safeguarding.

Working Pattern
* 16 hours per week, term time only, typically 2 full days, with on-call availability for occasional emergencies via phone.
