Salary: £25,992 - £28,624 pro rata (actual salary £8994 - £9904) Part time. 15 hours per week, term time only, Monday - Friday (mornings: 8:45 am -11:45 am) Fixed term contract: 2025/2026 academic year. Monkspath School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, skilled and caring SEN Support Assistant to join our friendly and experienced team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a large, values-driven primary school where inclusion and high-quality support for all learners are at the heart of what we do. This role will primarily be based in Reception, supporting an individual child with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). You will also contribute to wider class and group support and interventions and may work across other year groups during the academic year, depending on need. We are looking for someone who: • Has a passion for working with young children with additional needs, particularly in the early years • Has the skills and understanding to deliver individualised support, including one-to-one and small group interventions • Demonstrates a clear understanding of how young children learn and develop, particularly in communication, language, early literacy and personal, social and emotional development • Is able to model our school values and nurture positive relationships with children, staff and families • Works effectively and flexibly as part of a committed team • Is reflective, proactive, and keen to learn • Has a relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and ideally experience of working with children with EHCPs or additional needs in a primary setting In return, we offer: • Engaged and enthusiastic children who enjoy learning and behave well • A positive, supportive and collaborative staff team • Opportunities for professional development and training, including within the early years and SEND • A strong and caring school culture, rooted in our values of kindness, respect, responsibility, resilience and curiosity • Supportive parents and a committed governing body For more information, please contact Dan Wild, Head Teacher on 0121 705 2686 or at office@monkspath.solihull.sch.uk Required from 1 September 2025 Closing Date: 9:00 am on Friday 20 June 2025 Interviews are to be held soon after the closing date This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and an online check.
