Warwickshire Children with Disabilities Team is seeking a part-time (18.5 hours) Family Support Worker to join the team on a permanent basis.

The Children With Disabilities Service is county wide and based across three core sites. The advertised post is primarily supporting the South Children With Disabilities Team with a typical office base of Shire Hall, Warwick (agile working arrangements, promotion of minimum 1 day a week office base for an 18.5 hours contract).

Focusing on strengths and utilising an asset-based approach, you will support and enable children and their family members to reach identified outcomes to meet their full potential and maximise the child / young person’s independence and wellbeing.

Our approach is about locality working, multi disciplinary and multi agency teams that support the whole family. Building strong partnerships with local services, Health, Police and Education.

The Family Support Worker role based in the South Children with Disabilities Team - will involve:

4. Supporting Allocated Social Workers with specific pieces of direct work with disabled children and their families accessing intervention via Child in Need plans, Child Protection Plans, and Children In Care. This role includes offering direct work with children and young people and their families.
5. Support with visits and family time sessions where required.
6. Delivery of parenting programmes, sleep programmes and parenting approaches.
7. Undertake Carers Assessments
8. Contribute to social work assessments.
9. Co deliver information and support sessions for families and children within Children and Family Centres and the wider community who require support with a child / young person with a disability.
