Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Nurse with a passion for Sexual Health to join our integrated team providing sexual health, HIV and contraception care to male and female clients. The post holder will work daytime and evenings across sites in the Central area.
Main Duties
The post holder will provide high quality sexual health and contraception services to all clients accessing the sexual health clinics and will influence the development of the nurse’s role within the integrated sexual health service.
Training & Progression
This is a training post which will start at a Band 5 and progress to a Band 6 following completion of necessary training and competencies over a period of approximately two years.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse
* Evidence of CPD
* Degree or equivalent experience (desirable)
* Teaching and assessing qualification (desirable)
* Contraception qualification (desirable)
Experience
* Knowledge of contraception, sexual health and HIV specialist area.
* Ability to disseminate information in written and oral formats.
* Understanding of the role of the specialist area within the current health environment and the impact of current government/regional policy developments (desirable).
Personal Qualities
* Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
* Willingness to work across all BCUHB sites.
* Motivated and forward thinking.
* Prepared to accommodate future 7‑day working and potential service extension.
* Welsh speaker (desirable).
