Consultant in Public Health / Public Health Medicine (2 posts)
Location: Lancashire County Hall, Fishergate, Preston, Lancashire, PR1 8XJ.
Salary: £97,330 – £106,628.
Contract: Permanent. Working hours: 37 hours per week.
Roles
The successful candidates will bring energy, drive and innovation to improve outcomes for people in Lancashire. Each role will involve directing the work of the team, acting as the strategic lead for the portfolio across Lancashire and being a key member of the senior leadership team within the council.
Lead Public Health areas of responsibility will be negotiated in a job plan but at the time of appointment it is expected that the roles will focus on the following:
* Health Protection and Health Intelligence
* Health Improvement
The post holders will work in collaboration with other colleagues within public health, council directorates, the Integrated Care Board, the wider NHS, 12 district councils and the voluntary sector. They will establish and maintain a wide range of working relationships and a good understanding of the context of services in the County which impact on health and health inequalities.
Qualifications
Applicants should be on the GMC/GDC Specialist Register or UK Public Health Register (UKPHR), have proficient technical capability, proven system leadership, commitment to tackling health inequalities, and strong leadership skills in contributing to the work of a dynamic public health team.
