Location: Cannock, South West Staffordshire area.
Job Overview
The Social Care pathway provides an integrated, recovery‑focused service to people of South Staffordshire aged 16 and over, supporting adults with significant mental health needs. This Level 2 Social Worker will be a core member of the multidisciplinary mental health pathways, working closely with local service providers and voluntary agencies.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide assessment, planning, and delivery of social work services for adults with significant mental health needs.
* Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to support recovery journeys.
* Support clients in accordance with the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act.
* Maintain accurate client records.
* Provide formal and informal supervision and training support.
Qualifications & Experience
* Professional Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent certified by Social Work England).
* Registered with Social Work England at all times.
* Experienced post‑qualifying in mental health services, preferably with adults aged 16+.
* Strong communication, organisational and IT skills.
* Must be an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) or committed to undertaking AMHP training.
* Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act.
Desirable Criteria
* Accreditation as Practice Educator or Work‑Based Supervisor.
* Experience in other settings (children & families, learning disabilities, older adults).
