Job Title: Real Estate Claims Handler - Casualty
Location: Chelmsford (Hybrid - 4 days in office, reducing to 3 post-probation)
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
The opportunity:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Claims Handler to join a collaborative and growing Real Estate division. You’ll manage a caseload of UK and European Public Liability claims from first notification through to settlement, working closely with clients, brokers, and insurers to deliver a high-quality, efficient service.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing UK and European Public Liability claims (injury and property damage) from cradle to grave.
* Conducting detailed desktop investigations to assess policy coverage, liability, and reserve requirements.
* Liaising with clients, insurers, brokers, and internal teams to move claims toward swift and fair resolution.
* Proactively managing claim files, tasks, and diary actions.
* Preparing clear and accurate client reports, MI data, and invoicing.
* Ensuring compliance with technical procedures, internal standards, and GDPR requirements.
About you - Knowledge and Experience:
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience handling Public Liability claims (beyond broking exposure).
* Experience handling property claims is desirable but not essential.
* Confident working both independently and within a technical team environment.
* Familiarity with the UK low-value claims portal; European claims experience is a plus.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports and manage stakeholder relationships.
* Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and progress files proactively.
* Working towards a recognised claims qualification is desirable.
