Building Services Technician
Severnside
Permanent contract: Monday-Friday
The primary role of a Facilities Technician is to optimize property conditions, service and standards whilst keeping a safe working environment for all on site. The Facilities Technician will maintain a high level of quality, providing maximum satisfaction to all stakeholders, providing 1st fix response to fault finding with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and decorating skills.
Key responsibilities:
1. Carry out repairs and reactive maintenance
2. Responsible for monitoring and recording Data on Facilities equipment, including Boilers, Air Compressors and Cooling Equipment.
3. Assist in Site Compliance, including Contractor Control, PTW, Insurance Inspections, Legionella.
4. Carry out repairs to the fabric of a building, for example repairs to walls, doors, door frames, skirting boards or plaster damage to internal walls
5. Understand and maintain plumbing and drainage systems, for example repairs to WC systems, leaking taps or water testing and unblocking drains
6. Maintain high levels of water hygiene within a building
7. Basic electrical competencies, for example replacing damaged sockets, plugs, lighting and fuses.
8. Demonstrate and implement energy, environment and sustainable practices
9. Maintain grounds and external fabrication of a building, such as drainage and guttering
10. The safe use of hand tools, for example screwdrivers, power drills, pliers, paper strippers and a variety other tools used in plumbing and carpentry
11. Demonstrate and understand the importance of the control of resources and stock
12. Understand and demonstrate the principles of Planned Preventative Maintenance
13. Prepare for refurbishment or deep clean of equipment and surfaces
14. Support and prepare any office moves or individual requirements
15. Support the quality team in completing any low level pest proofing requirements
Skills and Experience required to be a Facilities Technician at Muller:
16. NVQ in Plumbing – ideal
17. General building competencies such as electrical, carpentry, painting and decorating
18. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
19. Effective communicator
