Overview

We're Hiring: Stores Operative - Witney

The Recruitment Group is seeking a Stores Operative to join the growing team of our reputable client based in Witney. This is a brilliant opportunity to become part of a friendly and dynamic work environment with real prospects for long-term (temp - perm) employment.


Responsibilities

* Stock Management
o Pack, label, and store parts in designated areas.
o Ensure all parts and materials are correctly identified, logged, and stored safely.
o Assist with inventory checks and stock audits as required.
o Ensure parts are easily accessible for engineers and other team members when needed.
* Picking and Packing
o Pick orders for parts and materials based on production requirements.
o Pack and prepare materials for dispatch in a safe and efficient manner.
* Delivery and Collection Service
o Drive a long wheelbase vehicle to deliver and collect parts and materials from suppliers, clients, and other company locations.
o Ensure safe transportation of materials and compliance with all driving regulations.
o Maintain accurate delivery logs and update the team on delivery schedules.
* Health & Safety Compliance
o Follow all health and safety guidelines when handling, storing, and transporting materials.
o Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
* General Stores Support
o Assist the team with general stores duties, including unloading deliveries and storing goods.
o Perform basic administrative tasks related to stock control and delivery documentation.
o Assist with any other ad-hoc duties as required by the Warehouse or Supply Chain team.


Key Skills and Requirements

* Experience
o Previous experience in a stores or warehouse environment is desirable.
o Ability to safely drive a company vehicle (likely a long wheelbase) is a must.
o Experience in stock management, order picking, and packing is an advantage.
* Skills
o Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
o Strong communication skills to liaise with team members, clients, and suppliers.
o Basic knowledge of inventory management systems (or willingness to learn).
o Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Other
o Ability to lift and move heavy items (manual handling).
o Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
o A flexible approach to work and willingness to assist with other tasks as required.
* Qualifications
o Full, clean driving license (for long wheelbase vehicle).
o Forklift license (desirable but not essential).
o Health and safety training (desirable but not essential).
