About the Role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Groundworks and Civil Engineering contractor operating across the East Midlands region. The business specialises in Residential Groundworks, Infrastructure, and site development for national and regional housebuilders.
Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The successful candidate will work closely with senior commercial staff to support the financial management of residential groundwork packages from tender through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with the preparation of valuations, variations, and cost reports.
* Supporting the commercial team with tender preparation and pricing.
* Measuring and assessing works on site in coordination with engineers and site managers.
* Assisting with subcontractor enquiries, comparisons, and order placements.
* Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used.
* Liaising with clients, site teams, and suppliers to ensure project cost control.
Candidate Requirements
* HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar.
* Some experience within groundworks, residential or civil engineering sectors (placement, trainee or post‑grad welcome).
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Confident communicator with a proactive approach to learning.
* £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
