The engineer will work closely with rig contractors and operators’ subsurface disciplines, well systems and regulatory entities to come up with the safest and most efficient plans to apply MPD successfully.

* Prepare MPD programs that include transient and steady-state hydraulic simulations related with drilling, influx management, MPD Matrix and envelope, riser gas handling, running drilling pipe and casing/liner, hole cleaning, cementing and well completion processes on managed pressure mode, as well as operating procedures adapted to each specific operation.
* Coordinate specific MPD operations when assigned to projects (well-engineering and operation)
* Attend and support technical meetings, risk assessments, hazards identification analysis, hazard and operability studies, drilling well on paper, etc.
* Conduct land and offshore rigs surveys and design based on job scope and operating parameters, best flow paths and specifications for temporary/permanent rigid and flexible piping, isolation valves for MPD equipment installation and related flow process diagram and P&ID.
* Participate and keep updated documentation for risk assessment activities for MPD equipment and systems to include Hazard identification (HAZID) studies, Hazard Operability (HAZOP) studies.
* Perform functional specification designs/calculations for surface MPD equipment and integration with rig equipment (frictional pressure losses on surface lines, equipment and accessories, erosion, rig MGS capabilities, etc)
* Participate if requested in DWOP meetings.
* Developing kick response scenarios related to the MPD system capabilities (MPD Well control Matrix)
* Familiarity with a feedback control loop and control fundamentals including single loop controllers, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

* Ability and willingness to learn thru a structured development program which includes internal and external courses, external certifications and practical on the job training (both office and field).
* An accredited Engineering degree (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical/Electronic, Industrial or Petroleum preferred).
* Experience in Managed Pressure Drilling 2 years minimum.
* Well control engineering/operations experience. Ability using influx management simulators.
* Proven English language communication skills required (both oral and written).
* Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft suite, AutoCad and other design software.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment (team oriented)
* Professional manner with a positive customer service attitude
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects with a positive attitude
* Proven time and project management skills
