New Directions are seeking committed and adaptable Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join our growing supply team. This role offers the chance to work across a diverse range of primary and secondary schools, supporting pupils with varying abilities and needs.

Working as a Supply LSA
This role requires flexibility and resilience. You may be placed in different schools on a daily or weekly basis, meaning no two days are the same. You will need to:
Adapt quickly to new classrooms, staff teams, and routines
Build rapport with pupils in a short space of time
Follow each school’s safeguarding, behaviour, and teaching policies
Travel to different school locations within your local area
Role Overview
As a Supply LSA, you will play a vital role in supporting both teachers and pupils to ensure a productive and inclusive learning environment. You may be working on a 1:1 basis, with small groups, or supporting the wider class, depending on the needs of the school.
You will be expected to quickly integrate into new school settings, follow lesson plans, and provide consistent, high-quality support to pupils.
Key Responsibilities
Provide in-class support under the guidance of the class teacher
Deliver targeted interventions to individuals or small groups
Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism (ASD), ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties
Assist in adapting learning materials to meet individual student needs
Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in pupils
Support behaviour management in line with school policies
Help create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
Assist with administrative and classroom preparation tasks
Supervise pupils during non-classroom times where required (e.g. break/lunch)
