Role: Mainframe Tester
Location: Northampton / Knutsford
Duration: End of the year 2025
Rate: 340GBP/Day (Inside IR35)
Purpose of the role
• Strong test automation knowledge of the following tools and technologies:
* Java
* Cucumber JVM, Maven, Git, Selenium
* DevOps tools (AWS, Jenkins)
* Hands-on experience in automation development and execution
* Development tools such as Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA
* Knowledge of Rest API, Rest Assured
• Experience with relational databases (MS SQL Server and Oracle DB).
• Strong knowledge of testing lifecycle and core testing processes/techniques using different test approaches.
• Excellent testing skills, including writing test strategies/approaches, test scenarios, executing test cases, bug reporting, and verification.
• Ability to design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to ensure software quality and reliability.
Accountabilities:
* Development and implementation of comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure quality standards.
* Creation and execution of automated test scripts using testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early defect detection.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, participate in design discussions, and develop acceptance criteria.
* Perform root cause analysis for defects, working closely with developers to support defect resolution.
* Participate in code reviews, promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
* Stay informed of industry technology trends and contribute to the organization’s technology communities.
* Perform activities in a timely manner, maintaining high standards and driving continuous improvement.
* Possess in-depth technical knowledge and experience in the area of expertise.
* Lead and supervise a team, guiding professional development, allocating work, and coordinating resources.
* If in a leadership role, demonstrate leadership behaviors to foster an environment for colleagues to thrive.
* For individual contributors, develop technical expertise and act as an advisor where appropriate.
* Impact related teams within the area and partner with other functions and business areas.
