Science Technician - 36 hours per week, 36 weeks per year to cover term times

We are seeking to appoint a full time, term time only Technician to work within the Science team of the College's successful Sixth Form which delivers GCSE, A Levels and vocational Science courses.
You would prepare practical equipment for science classes, assist and supervise students in the Science Laboratories, help with practical work and supervise students during class contact hours. You will also assist in the maintenance and distribution of the equipment, monitoring stock levels and supporting lecturers during demonstrations. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and will assist in all Science areas.
You should be qualified to 'A' Level or equivalent in a Science subject, or have substantial relevant experience and should have experience working in a science laboratory/workshop. You will also possess good organisational skills, an understanding of basic health and safety requirements and be able to communicate effectively with students and work as part of a team.

Please note: for individuals who start a term time only role after 1st September, the salary will be pro-rated from the start date to the end of this academic year (31st August This ensures that the correct entitlement to pay and holiday pay relative to the portion of the year worked. This will be paid in equal monthly instalments until 31 August. The salary will revert to the normal arrangements as stated in the advert at the start of the following academic year.
