Responsibilities
Tasks
* Evaluate daily operations
* Plan and organize daily operations
* Hire, supervise and train or oversee training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques
* Plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment, production systems and methods of work
* Plan and manage the establishment of departmental budget
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
* Train technicians, assistants, students or interns
* Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
* Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
* Provide staff training
* Propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures
* Oversee safety of operations
* Apply quality control procedure
* Monitor quality and production levels
* Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units
* Troubleshoot problems related to equipment
* Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
* Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers
* Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
