Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Groundworker/Dumper Driver to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating dumper trucks and assisting with groundworks on various sites. Responsibilities
* Operating dumper trucks to transport materials across construction sites efficiently and safely
* Assisting with groundworks, including site clearance, excavation support, and material handling
* Using mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues
* Assisting with the operation of excavators and other plant machinery as required
* Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations and site protocols
* Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, including routine checks on vehicles and machinery
* Communicating effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow
Skills
* Proven experience as a dumper driver or groundworker in a construction setting
* Mechanical knowledge to assist with minor repairs and maintenance of equipment
* Valid commercial driving licence (CPCS or NPORS certification preferred)
* Experience operating excavators or similar plant machinery is advantageous
* Strong understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites
* Good organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
* Physical fitness to handle the demands of the role, including lifting heavy materials when necessary
