We’re recruiting an experienced Insite Manager to be based full-time at a major manufacturing site in Luton. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you’ll take ownership of the onsite operation, acting as the key link between the customer and the supply partner.
You’ll be responsible for driving service excellence, identifying cost-saving and efficiency opportunities, and developing strong working relationships across engineering, purchasing, and planning teams.
This role suits someone who enjoys being embedded on-site and combining commercial awareness, technical understanding, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary onsite contact for the customer, building strong relationships with key stakeholders
Lead and manage the site-based team, ensuring compliance with processes and service standards
Deliver against agreed sales, margin, and performance targets
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives (TCO reduction, supplier consolidation, OEM conversion)
Drive growth through spend consolidation and value-added services
Manage onsite/consignment stock where applicable, maintaining agreed min/max levels and traceability
Coordinate support from technical specialists and strategic suppliers to improve reliability and performance
Produce regular performance and financial reports
Maintain daily contact with customer engineering teams, attending meetings and supporting urgent requirements
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety standards
About You You’ll be confident operating in a manufacturing or engineering environment and comfortable working closely with customers on a day-to-day basis.
You’ll ideally have:
Experience in industrial distribution, MRO, or manufacturing/engineering environments
Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills
Commercial awareness with experience delivering cost savings or margin improvement
A structured and organised approach to work and reporting
Leadership experience managing a small onsite team
Knowledge of industrial products such as bearings, power transmission, pneumatics, hydraulics, or similar (desirable)
Additional Requirements:
Ability to pass a clear DBS check
Role is based on a secure manufacturing site, with strict site access requirements in place
