Details of this position: This position is for a full time Manufacturing Workshop Instructor in prison education. We're seeking a practical and motivated Manufacturing Instructor to manage our busy prison workshop - a dynamic space where metal goods are produced to industry standards, and individuals gain the skills and discipline needed for employment and rehabilitation. Deliver comprehensive workshop inductions with a strong focus on health, safety, and tool control Lead and supervise daily workshop operations, including task allocation and workflow management Set and uphold clear quality standards, monitoring output and ensuring production targets are met Provide practical and soft skills training, supporting personal and professional development Work schedule: Full time 38.5 hours per week Salary scale: Up to £28,000 per annum Annual leave : 30 days per annum To be considered, suitable candidates will need to meet the following criteria: Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and guide others A solid understanding of health & safety regulations and risk assessment procedures Suitable candidates will need to be enthusiastic, resilient and have a humanistic approach.
