Offer description

Rise:61 is looking to recruit a Treasurer with financial expertise who is proficient in Xero and can oversee our finances at a Board level. This is an exciting time to join the charity as we've recently refreshed our strategy and have a number of significant opportunities open to us in the community which we want to capitalise on.

Rise:61 Overview

Rise:61 is a charitable incorporated organisation that was established in 2014 to support young people in the estate of Bemerton Heath, Salisbury which is in the top 20% of most deprived wards in England and has the highest child poverty rate across all of Swindon and Wiltshire.

Our vision is a better Bemerton for all. A Bemerton full of hope, fun and opportunity. Somewhere that’s a great place to live, learn and grow. We come alongside young people in their spaces and get to know their interests and challenges, providing activities and support based on these needs.

We work directly with over 160 young people a year and over 500 local residents, providing a variety of free activities including: open access drop-ins, after school clubs, spaces to explore faith, trips, residentials and mentoring. We also manage a community garden, run young leaders groups, host 3 large community events a year, provide hardship support to families and offer alternative education provision for young people struggling in mainstream education.

Rise:61 is a Christian charity that employs 11 staff (the majority of which work part time) and has an annual turnover of around £300,000.
