As the Indirect Operational Procurement Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing operations for all indirect procurement activities at our site. This includes leading a small team and ensuring efficient conversion of purchase requisitions to orders. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in operational procurement, particularly within indirect commodities as well as having excellent stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the operational procurement process for all indirect procurement activities.
2. Supervise a small team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and develop strategies to meet them effectively.
4. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
5. Oversee the conversion of purchase requisitions to orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
6. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
7. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns as they arise.
8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to optimize procurement outcomes.
9. Provide regular reports and updates on procurement activities to management.
Qualifications and Experience:
10. Proven experience in operational procurement, preferably within indirect commodities.
11. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Experience with functional or dotted line management is beneficial (but not essential).
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
13. Solid understanding of procurement processes, policies, and regulations.
14. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
15. Experience with procurement software and systems is desirable.
16. Certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.
