Job Title: Compliance Specialist - Health and Safety
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Job Description:
The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving all business processes, policies, and practices related to chemical and health, safety, and environment (HSE) compliance. This includes managing DSEAR assessments and audits, REACH compliance, COSHH compliance, assisting environmental compliance, site assessments, internal auditing, and participating in activities related to the achievement and maintenance of industry-related standards.
This is a 12-month contract position based near Sheffield, easily commutable from Barnsley, Doncaster, Chesterfield, Rotherham, and Worksop. The successful candidate will work closely with the HSE Manager to ensure compliance with chemical regulations and HSE laws.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement, monitor, and improve business processes, policies, and practices related to chemical and HSE compliance.
* Manage DSEAR assessments and audits.
* Manage REACH compliance and maintenance of the system.
* Manage COSHH compliance and maintenance of the management system.
* Assist environmental compliance (waste management permits, etc.).
* Assist in preparation and distribution of environmental reports.
* Conduct site assessments and internal auditing.
* Participate in activities related to the achievement and maintenance of ISO and other industry-related standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in compliance within a chemical setting, DESAR, REACH, COSHH experience, NEBOSH qualification, IEMA qualified auditor, experience auditing to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, and experienced in chemical regs/compliance within a manufacturing company.
