Head of Adult Services - Scotland
Compass Associates are proud to be supporting a respected national charity in the appointment of a Head of Adult Services to lead a regional portfolio across Scotland, focused on supporting autistic adults and individuals with learning disabilities.
This senior leadership role combines strategic vision with operational impact. You’ll be accountable for service quality, regulatory compliance (including the Care Inspectorate), workforce culture, and financial oversight across a range of settings.
Role Overview:
* Strategic leadership and delivery of adult support services across Scotland
* Oversight of operational performance, quality, and safeguarding
* Visible leadership for service managers and multidisciplinary teams
* Regulatory responsibility including Care Inspectorate and adult protection compliance
* Driving continuous improvement, co-production, and values-based practice
* Leading change initiatives, service redesign, and workforce development
* Building strong partnerships with health boards, local authorities, and commissioning bodies
* Financial and risk accountability at senior level
Candidate Essentials:
*
Significant leadership experience in adult care services, preferably autism or learning disability
*
Strong understanding of Scottish regulatory frameworks and Care Inspectorate requirements
*
Proven ability to manage risk, performance, and service development
*
Commercial and budgetary acumen, with clear accountability for outcomes
*
Confident, emotionally intelligent leader with values-led decision-making
*
Experience delivering change and improvement across complex services
