About the Opportunity
Bolt Technical are recruiting for a CNC Programmer to join a well-established precision engineering business within the aerospace and advanced manufacturing sector.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-spec machining environment, producing complex, safety-critical components for industries including aerospace, defence, semiconductor, and energy.
Youll play a key role in programming and optimising CNC machining processes, ensuring high-quality output, efficiency, and continuous improvement across production.
Key Responsibilities
Define machining strategy and develop CNC programs for 3, 4 & 5 axis machines
Generate programs from 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
Design and implement work holding solutions
Set and operate CNC machines producing precision components
Interpret technical drawings and machine to tight tolerances
Work closely with the Quality team to ensure standards are met
Carry out in-process inspection and quality checks
Support continuous improvement and productivity initiatives
Provide technical support and guidance to operators and junior team members
Maintain accurate documentation for tooling, programs, and processes
Report production issues and support root cause analysis
What Theyre Looking For
Proven experience programming CNC machining centres (3, 4 & 5 axis)
Strong knowledge of machining aluminium and stainless steel
Experience with Siemens or Heidenhain controls (advantageous)
Experience using CAD/CAM software such as Edgecam or Hypermill (or similar)
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
Background in aerospace, defence, or precision engineering environments
Proactive and solutions-focused approach
Strong communication skills and ability to support team development
