Manage, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team. Provide hands-on technical input across concept design, prototyping, integration, validation, and operational deployment. Oversee and coordinate external suppliers, design houses, and partners to expand capacity and access specialist expertise. Support vehicle assembly, commissioning, and sea trials with practical engineering expertise. Define and maintain engineering processes, tools, and documentation that raise quality, repeatability, and efficiency. Collaborate closely with software, electronics, and systems engineering colleagues to deliver fully integrated robotic solutions. Provide authoritative technical input into proposals, bids, and client-facing discussions. Who you are Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent). Extensive experience in maritime robotics, subsea vehicles, or advanced marine systems. Strong technical background in at least one of: mechanical design, marine systems, power/propulsion, or naval architecture, with proven ability to lead across all. Hands-on experience in vehicle prototyping, system integration, and offshore trials. Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in designing for harsh and variable marine environments. Track record of leading engineering teams and managing external partners. Familiarity with marine classification rules, subsea safety standards, and product development lifecycles. Desirable Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards professional registration. Knowledge of autonomy, robotics, or embedded systems. Experience collaborating with operations and production teams during vessel trials and deployment. Prior involvement in client discussions, proposals, or bids requiring engineering input. Salary : The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
