An Alternative Provision in Wirral is seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to join its team on a full-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to transition from a temporary position to a permanent placement. About the Role: You will work with students who may have experienced trauma, developed challenging behaviours, or built barriers towards education. Your role is to provide consistent support, build trusting relationships, and guide pupils towards positive outcomes both academically and personally. Key Responsibilities: Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in a structured, nurturing environment. Use trauma-informed practice to understand and respond to individual needs. Build strong, trustworthy relationships to encourage engagement and personal growth. Help students develop resilience, confidence, and positive behaviours. Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes. Promote a safe, inclusive environment where every young person feels valued. What We’re Looking For: Experience working with young people who display challenging behaviour or have barriers to learning. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach with excellent relationship-building skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and strategies for supporting emotional wellbeing. Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a positive, structured environment.
